Endophytic fungi and their potential in controlling white root disease of cashew

چکیده

White root disease is a significant of cashew caused by Rigidoporus sp. Five endophytic fungal isolates, namely AR31D (Fusarium proliferatum), AR42D (Penicillium citrinum), BR32C (Trichoderma asperellum), VNTB1 (Chaetomium sp.), and EAGS14 (Curvularia lunata), were assessed as the biocontrol agents against in vitro in planta. The research objective was to obtain fungi that effectively control their mechanisms. The test results showed all isolates could inhibit promote plant growth producing volatile organic compounds, chitinase enzymes, indole acetic acid. Meanwhile, only four solubilize phosphate with low-medium solubilization efficiency. successfully colonized saplings 10–65%. effectiveness controlling white was determined mechanisms involved, such resistance induction (increased activity defense enzymes like polyphenol oxidase), enzyme production, acid solubilization, suppression stress which observed from decreased malondialdehyde concentrations saplings’ roots. Trichoderma asperellum Chaetomium best highest stimulating growth.

Endophytic fungi harbored in the root of Sophora tonkinensis Gapnep: Diversity and biocontrol potential against phytopathogens

This work, for the first time, investigated the diversity of endophytic fungi harbored in the xylem and phloem of the root of Sophora tonkinensis Gapnep from three geographic localities with emphasis on the influence of the tissue type and geographic locality on endophytic fungal communities and their potential as biocontrol agents against phytopathogens of Panax notoginseng. A total of 655 fun...

biocontrol potential of root endophytic fungi and trichoderma species against fusarium wilt of lentil under in vitro and greenhouse conditions

lentil wilt, caused by fusarium oxysporum f. sp. lentis is one of the main limiting factors to successful lentil cultivation. effect of four antagonistic fungi, namely: piriformospora indica, sebacina vermifera, trichoderma viride and trichoderma harzianum as well as combinations among them were evaluated against fusarium wilt of lentil. in in vitro experiments, the effect of the antagonistic f...

Endophytic Fungi: A Potential Source of Bioactive Compounds

Endophytic fungi are ubiquitous in nature and reside intercellular or intracellular in the plants, at least for a portion of their lives without causing apparent symptoms of infection. Almost all plants are known to harbor endophytes. The choice of the plant to be used for exploring endophytes for bioactive compounds is important. Secondary metabolites serve in multiple physiologic functions, m...

Isolation, identification and biodiversity of endophytic fungi o Thymus

Endophytes are considered as an important source of bioactive natural products because thesemicroorganisms are able to occupy unique biological niches and grow in non-ordinaryenvironments. Therefore, endophytic fungi of medicinal plants can be developed for medicinalapplications. On the other hand, medicinal properties of plant can be ascribed to its endophyticfungi. Thymus sp. is widely used a...
